Job Summary
Specialists are staff professionals who apply specialized knowledge, typically as individual contributors, in assisting management in matters that require special interpretation or expertise. Incumbents utilize their professional (i.e., discipline-specific) and/or institutional knowledge, including theories, practices, and techniques, to perform department activities. Incumbents may directly manage no more than 2 employees.
This role in Corporate Accounting and Reporting is expected to perform the essential functions below in the areas of intercompany accounting, intercompany settlement, debt, and interest. Areas of responsibility may shift depending on the experience of the incumbent.
Note: This is a hybrid position which will require on-site attendance as needed to support business needs. If onsite attendance is required, the travel expense is covered by GuideWell. The preferred candidate would be within a commutable range of Jacksonville, FL.
What Will Be Your Purpose?
- The work of a Specialist II is subject, wholly or in part, to practices and procedures covered by precedents or well-defined policy and/or supervisory review. Incumbents determine their own priorities and may deviate from established procedures and practices as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability. Representative duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs accounting and controllership functions for analysis, reporting, and management of financial accounts.
- Identifies and resolves issues/barriers which may involve internal and external business partners.
- Responsible for identifying and recommending continuous process improvements.
- Ensures the financial integrity and compliance with state laws and regulations on financial systems, procedures, and processes.
- May perform complex reconciliations of general ledger accounts and researches variances for resolution.
- May serve as subject matter expert or technical expert on initiatives and projects.
- May ensure all policies, processes, and procedures are integrated into Corporate Finance's short- and long-term plans and objectives.
- May provide training and/or consultation on processes to internal and/or external areas.
- May perform workflow management to ensure optimum output.

What You Must Have:
3+ years related work experience. Experience Details: corporate accounting experience
Related Bachelor's degree required Accounting or Finance
What We Would Prefer You Have:
Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and variance explanations in multiple areas of accounting, such as accrued liabilities, fixed assets, and/or prepaid expenses. Strong Excel background.
General Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Annualized Salary Range: $55,800 - $90,700
Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $55,800 - $66,000
Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
