Job Description

Job Summary:

The Accountant II performs journal entries, difficult and involved reconciliations, researches exceptions, and analyzes trends and costs to validate results. This team member relies on several years of experience and judgment to plan and accomplish a variety of job functions and closing activities. The Accountant II works under limited supervision and interacts with other departments and/or external parties when the Accountant II feels it is necessary.

Job Duties:

• Prepares and inputs complex journal entries to the general ledger.
• Prepares reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts.
• Calculates and validates accruals.
• Researches, documents and resolves reconciling items, which requires problem solving capabilities.
• Assists with month end close process.
• Assists with documentation and compliance of internal controls.
• Prepares monthly management reports and analysis, which includes ad-hoc, one-time requests.
• Prepares external and internal audit schedules.
• Consistently questions unusual / non-routine transactions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience:

• College Degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.
• One (1) to two (2) years of experience in public or general accounting and/or financial analysis.
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Familiar with standard accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
• Working knowledge of automated accounting systems.
• Microsoft Dynamics GP knowledge preferred.

Compensation Information

Salary Range: $55,000-$76,000

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
