Accountant (Mid-Level)

Description

The Accountant (Mid-Level) responsibilities include calculation and filing of indirect (non-income) tax returns, coordination with external tax advisors on income tax returns, and the preparation of compliance reporting and regulatory returns and reports. The accountant will also assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations and other accounting tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Work with external tax firm and other sources to stay current on and implement changes to indirect tax regulations in various jurisdictions.
• Maintain up-to-date calendar of indirect tax return and annual report filing requirements by jurisdiction and legal entity.
• Liaise with external tax firm to assist them in preparing federal and state income tax returns.
• Download, analyze and summarize data to prepare indirect tax returns and annual reports.
• File returns and maintain orderly records of all filings.
• Assist with the 1042 filing process.
• Coordination with registered agent and registration renewals.
• Prepare other miscellaneous returns and reports as needed.
• Manage the process of updating tax status for customers.
• Act as point person for incoming and outgoing tax correspondence.
• Provide support for income and indirect tax audits when they arise.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations and other accounting tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• 2 - 4 years of related experience.
• Exceptional organizational skills and initiative with a strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to comprehend assigned tasks and objectives, meet timelines, and provide updates.
• Advanced Excel skills.
