Our office located in Lincoln, RI is seeking an Accountant. The selected individual would be responsible for assisting with the preparation ofstatistical insurance filings, residual market insurance plans,andstate data calls. The position will alsoreview daily transactions of premium and claim data for the Amica Companieswithin the system and assist in resolving issues with the movement of data to the general ledger.

This position is a 37.5 hour work week Monday through Friday between the core hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and a hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days work from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of various financial and statistical filings required by external regulatory agencies and internal management
  • Work with team members to support external vendors, internal departments, and regulatory agencies
  • Prepare journal entriesrelated to core insurance financial transactions and residual markets
  • Perform daily reconciliations of premium and claim data within the system
  • Identify discrepancies between source administrative systems and the accounting system of record
  • Begin to understand the use and preparation of statistical data along with the workflow and processes around the dataof the Amica Companies
  • Assist in the research of statistical plan or state compliance changes and their potential effect on Company procedures
  • Providefeedback and input in group meetings and discussions
  • May be called upon to handle other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, proficient in Excel
  • Two to four years' experience
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, statistical data requirements or relatedexperiencea plus
