Pay Range: $31.55/hr - $45.74/hr

Purpose Statement / Position Summary

The Staff Accountant supports accounting and analytical activities related to daily operations and strategic initiatives that are difficult, but not necessarily complex.Incumbent communicates key insights to both small and large audiences and are comfortable working with data of varying complexity.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

1. Under moderate supervision, prepares basic to intermediate journal entries to support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.Work is accurate, completed efficiently and includes appropriate supporting documentation sufficient for audit purposes.Individual takes ownership of due dates and follows established workflows for posting in accounting software.
2. Under moderate supervision, perform basic to intermediate analysis of data sets and prepare basic to intermediate accounting calculations, and may suggest appropriate resolution, to support daily operations and strategic initiatives.Work is accurate and completed efficiently.Individual takes ownership of due dates and completes deliverables in a medium dictated by requestor or suggests other options.
3. Under moderate supervision, perform general ledger account reconciliation to support financial close.Work is accurate, completed efficiently and ensures that details tie to published totalsIndividual takes ownership of due dates, completes deliverable in a medium dictated by leadership, or suggests other options in an effort to ensure sufficient documentation for audit purposes.
4. Under moderate supervision, run and/or create basic to intermediate reports and perform thorough quality checks to validate that data is accurate and relevant to the directive.May include completion of a variety of reporting, both for internal and external (e.g., regulatory) purposes.Deliverables are completed on time and meet the expectations of the customer.individual sometimes suggests report enhancements to provide additional value to the customer. Coordinates with supervisor to determine how best to complete tasks and the appropriate application to use.
5. Through regular interaction, communicates information and issues with supervisor clearly and with professionalism to ensure recipient(s) have a complete understanding of the issue.May communicate directly with peers and/or colleagues.In consultation with supervisor, leverages email, phone, virtual meeting, and chat mediums as appropriate, given type and urgency of message.
6. Maintains intermediate understanding of applications necessary to carry out job functions.Sometimes identifies optimization opportunities.Coordinates with supervisor to identify and complete appropriate training and/or certifications. Includes visualization and accounting platforms.
7. "Other duties as assigned."

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Qualifications

Experience

Minimum 1 years' experience in a comparable role preferred.

Proven organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Innate curiosity and penchant for learning

Proven ability with basic Excel formulas, graphs, and pivot tables

Effective presentation skills

Proven problem-solving skills.

Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Proven ability to accept responsibility.

Basic understanding of GAAP

Healthcare experience preferred.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business, Finance Accounting or similar field required.
