Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions
  • Perform monthly prepaid expense allocations and other various monthly accrual entries and reconcile corresponding general ledger accounts for Stephens Inc and related companies
  • Perform reconciliations of cash accounts for various companies
  • Send monthly financial statements for Stephens Inc. and related companies to COOL (on line storage system)
  • Remotely deposit all firm checks received daily
  • Assist in monthly maintenance of RMOL (Records Management On-line, records retrieval software) including administrative function for control of data
  • Monthly analysis of various departmental financial statements as assigned by management, including preparation of footnotes for management
  • Verify for audit control supplier changes on a daily basis
  • Prepare and review daily reconciliations between Workday (general ledger system) and Pershing
  • Perform monthly analysis of various revenue and expense accounts as assigned by management
  • Work directly with the external auditors to ensure they have required information to complete an audit of the firm, and respond to questions or inquiries as requested
  • Complete special projects as requested by management
  • Perform other duties as required

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years of job related experience with strong accounting skills preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education, training or experience.

  • Accurate calculations and the ability to meet deadlines are required, to prevent fines from regulatory agencies
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Process management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software including intermediate Excel skills
  • Ability to learn and utilize industry specific software as required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated reliability in attendance and work performance
  • Commitment to working hard
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Deadlines imposed by management, regulatory agency filing, year-end audits and regulatory exams, may limit when vacation can be scheduled
