Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with knowledge in non-profit accounting. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with technical accounting standards. The Accountant will play a key role in grant fiscal compliance and financial auditing, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. Responsibilities β€’ Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. β€’ Review monthly expense reports from funded subrecipients for accuracy and allowability of expenses. β€’ Provide financial technical assistance on an as needed basis to all funded subrecipients agencies. β€’ Assist in payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation. β€’ Perform financial audits to verify compliance with regulations and internal policies. β€’ Utilize CYMA and excel spreadsheets for effective financial management and reporting. β€’ Process monthly reimbursement vouchers β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting efforts. β€’ Assist in preparing financial reports and spending updates for funding sources. β€’ Maintain organized financial records and documentation for easy retrieval during audits or reviews. Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. β€’ Proven experience in financial services or nonprofit accounting is highly desirable. β€’ Strong understanding of technical accounting principles and practices. β€’ Proficiency in software applications. β€’ Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform analysis effectively. β€’ Experience in payroll processing is a plus. β€’ Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. β€’ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative mindset.
