Overview

We are seeking an Accountant or Senior Accountant to join our Finance team based in our New York office. This is a unique opportunity to become a member of a small but growing team.Β 

The perfect candidate will demonstrate excellent accounting knowledge and financial systems skills and have a track record of active participation in process improvement initiatives. We are seeking someone who is energetic, team oriented, and open to new ideas and concepts.

About the Team

The team plays a critical role in enabling senior management to make fast, data-driven strategic decisions by performing revenue invoicing, A/R, A/P, cash management, financial reporting, and planning & analysis. The Finance team at KBRA is a part of Global Finance and responsible for recording transactions, validating completeness and accuracy, recording, and presenting actual results of the financials of the company.

About the Job

In this role, you will work independently while also as a team to assist with a variety of accounting matters, including sales invoicing, processing vendor bills, employee expense reports and credit card statements. You will help with streamlining accounting operations and improve the quality of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, and internal controls to ensure timely reporting. You will reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance, equity tracking and various tax information collection. You will be involved with some financial planning work, including reporting on top clients by revenue and other matters as they arise. You will also support internal and external audit requests and provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed.

For the main responsibility of sales invoicing, you will be responsible for all phases of sales invoicing, from receiving notifications when transactions are near completion to sending invoices to Bankers and Issuers. You will prepare invoices according to terms outlined in engagement letters. You will monitor the sales pipeline, noting which transactions have been invoiced, and follow up with the Business Development team on the timing of outstanding transactions. You will also be responsible for invoicing annual fees and for performing A/R related work.

About You

You will be successful in this role if you:

  • Are CPA certified
  • Have at least 3+ years of experience in an accounting role
  • Have strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting regulations and policies.
  • Have strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, problem-solving, technical, and analytical skills
  • Have the ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization and the ability to effectively communicate clear and concise ideas both verbally and in writing
  • Are curious and enthusiastic - not afraid to ask probing questions and challenge existing processes
  • Are proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of NetSuite accounting system is a plus
