Job Description

Summary

Serve as a client advocate and day to day point person for the client, internal partners and outside vendors. Responsible for performing a variety of accounting and analytical duties, including partnership accounting tasks. Researches and resolves accounting and reporting issues. Prepares financial information for client and third party vendor.

Major Duties

  1. Performs partnership accounting duties, including preparing and balancing, initial set-up of partnership structures, activity and maintenance including all cash movements, and execution of data flows. Responsible for funding capital calls, reviewing cash available in side pocket, rebalancing of side pocket, transfer cash if necessary and request loan draw for remainder of cash needed.
  2. Analyzes various accounts, including reviewing supporting documentation, analyzing entries, and resolving discrepancies.
  3. Prepares financial information for client and third party vendor. Prepares all customized reporting for client on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis including all ad-hoc requests. Must be prepared and delivered to client on a timely and efficient basis.
  4. Provide client reports with quarterly transaction activity and market values. Review allocation statements, ownership statements from third party vendor and reconcile as needed on a timely basis. Maintain a high level of professionalism towards client and internal/external partners at all times.
  5. Understand each client's expectations, special procedures and implement action plans in conjunction with relationship manager to meet/exceed client expectations.
  6. Works with relationship managers to complete quarterly Partnership Performance meetings for designated clients.
  7. Communicates with partners to resolve discrepancies or provide assistance on accounting issues.
  8. Works effectively as a team member but also independently
  9. Conducts special analysis and projects as assigned and prepares reports of detailed findings for management review.

Knowledge/Skills

  1. Knowledge of accounting and finance normally acquired through a four year degree program or related work experience is required to perform financial analysis and accounting duties.
  2. Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory reporting usually acquired through related work experience is preferred.
  3. Critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills are necessary to analyze financial data, prepare reports and resolve client inquiries.
  4. Advanced Excel skills necessary (Pivot Table and V-Lookup)

Experience Required

  • 2-4 years of general accounting and finance experience with a related degree
  • 5-6 years of general accounting and finance without a related degree
