Accounting Analyst

The ONE NOV shared services accounting team is looking for an Accounting Analyst reporting to the 3001 Accounting Manager. This is the first cross-segment/cross-business unit ledger to go-live on the new OMEGA platform. Once implementations are complete, ledger 3001 will have GL/Accounting responsibility for all corporate and operational entities under the US NOV LP legal entity supporting over 6000 employees across all 3 NOV segments and Corporate.

The Accounting Analyst will be responsible for financial reporting, process improvement, and SOX requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare and review various month-end close reports, financial statements, and analyses in order to validate accuracy and compliance with internal accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principles in the U.S. ("GAAP").
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of period close, required reports, and journal entries to create and support processes that meet required company deadlines
• Create and enter journal entries.
• Update and enhance accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist with quarterly review and annual audits, including compiling and preparing supporting schedules, work papers, and financial reports required to support external and internal audit requests.
• Monitor, participate in, and enhance formal processes for internal controls surrounding the reporting process to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.
• Coordinate and effectively communicate accounting matters with various departments throughout the Company.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of professional Accounting experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance (Required)
• Maters's Degree in Accounting /Finance (Preferred)
• CPA/Working towards completion of CPA (Preferred)
• Big 4 experience (Preferred)
• Public company experience (Preferred)
