We are currently looking for an Accounting Analyst III/ Sr for our Owensboro, KY or Houston, TX office.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate will work to establish an internal process for Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions calculations. This role will collect data, perform key calculations, and validate large data sets used to compile reporting for Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Leveraging technology tools to extract required data fields from electricity invoices required for Scope 2 calculations.
• Building Power BI models to identify key trends in data sets by region or utility provider for monthly and annual usage.
• Develop process controls and validations to identify errors or anomalies in the data set.
• Develop an understanding of Boardwalk's financial systems and processes to identify an initial framework for Scope 3 metrics and an efficient way to collect the source data.
• Cross train within Financial Systems team to support month end and quarter end close processes in Oracle EBS (E-Business Suite), FCC (Financial Consolidation and Close) and/or ARC (Account Reconciliation Cloud), for the GAAP and FERC ledgers.
• Assist in developing and maintaining reports used for external GAAP and FERC requirements and internal reporting needs.
• Assist in the continuing effort to identify process and reporting efficiencies while adhering to proper internal controls.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• 5-10 years Accounting or Finance experience
• Oracle E-Business Suite or other ERP financial system experience (primarily general ledger)
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and with cross functional teams.
• Strong communication skills
• Process-oriented mindset and desire for continuous learning

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Understanding of Scope 2 and 3 emissions calculations
• Energy industry experience
• Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close and/or Smartview experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Other data-driven disciplines considered

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

• CPA or MBA
