What You'll Do

You'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, reporting, and the analysis of our investment portfolios on both a GAAP and STAT basis. You'll partner with a wide range of teams to gather information and to create reports for senior management to evaluate the performance of the company's investments.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist in developing analysis of financial results and performance information for our wide range of investments including bonds, commercial mortgage loans, derivatives, and tax advantaged investments.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and reports and analyze results and trends. Compile, analyze, and interpret management reporting.
• Review and analyze manual and automated procedures, systems and controls.
• Assist accounting systems liaisons to develop and implement new systems or enhance existing systems to resolve problems or improve accounting/financial processes and internal controls.
• Prepare and/or interpret complex accounting transactions and records.
• Analyze data in order to initiate/recommend corrective action as needed.
• Support regulatory reporting cycles.
• Develop and maintain effective and responsive communication with assigned division(s) to ensure timely identification and understanding of critical performance factors and accurate financial information.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analysis demonstrating industry knowledge.
• Assist in ad hoc projects to implement new investment accounting guidance, and to help upgrade or improve investment accounting systems

The Skills and Background You'll Need

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Experience: 4 years progressively responsible experience in the preparation and interpretation of financial results, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. Experience with investment accounting preferred, but not required.
• Professional certifications preferred: CPA, CMA, or MBA.

Salary Range:
$62,000.00 - $93,900.00
