Accounting and Finance Analyst

Summary

Under limited supervision, this role completes a variety of the most complex accounting projects involving the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting and financial reporting procedures for special projects. Ensures management is provided with relevant, comparable, and accurate data on which to base decisions. Provides financial guidance, expertise, and recommendations to the business for operational decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with multiple departments to document related party transactions and history of closely held businesses
• Prepares appropriate explanations relating to report items of particular interest or significance, apply judgment in determining what would be of interest or importance.
• Create reports and ad hoc analysis of financial performance for internal use in business decisions
• Contributes ideas and innovations to improve upon existing systems, work processes and procedures affecting financial close, account analysis preparation, variance analysis, financial forecasts, and reporting.
• Analysis of private equity venture capital investment opportunities and performance including monitoring ROI on business ventures, and collecting industry research to inform decision making
• Organize data into accessible reports and perform various types of analysis using key metrics such as yearly growth, return on assets, return on equity and earnings per share
• Prepare financial and business related analysis and research.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

• 5+ years related experience and/or training
• Valid Certified Public Accountant license preferred

• Proficient with financial programs and software, Microsoft Office, and GL accounting programs
