THE ROLE

As the Accounting Assistant, you will report to the senior accountant as an integral part of the finance function. You will handle carrying out the day-to-day accounting activity of the company including accounts payable administration, cash management, payroll, benefits and onboarding, drafting working papers, drafting intercompany journal entries, and assembling various other deliverables as required by management.

You have a detail-oriented mindset, capable of producing well organized and accurate information. Effective communication, a willingness to take on new and challenging tasks, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced working environment are must-haves. 

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required, with a strong background with Excel preferred. Familiarity with current accounting frameworks and financial reporting software such as NetSuite is a bonus. Must have the ability to learn and grow with new software.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accurate and timely accounting of all transactions
• Input journal entries into the account system
• Prepare support schedules such as cash, bank and credit card  reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Prepare client invoices and management of the accounts receivables
• Run the accounts payable process including the booking of invoices within NetSuite and vendor bill portal, preparation of accounts to be paid, management of cash resources to allow for payment, and obtaining payable classification information from operations marketing and sales personnel.
• Act as a key liaison for vendor relationships using professional communication skills to receive invoices, handle reimbursements, reconcile discrepancies with vendors, and maintain accurate records of cash disbursements and costs.
• Assist with customer chargeback resolution. 
• Aid Senior Accountant in month-end closing duties.
• Assist with the management of external audits
• Support the finance team as necessary with ad hoc tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

• An undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
• Currently in pursuit of a professional designation such as ACCA or CPA
• At least two (2) years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing/retail industry
• Experienced in working within Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Excel), experience with Netsuite is a plus 
• Fast learner with new forms of software and technology 
• Confident and capable of receiving direction and producing actionable, tangible results 
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills, able to walk through processes step-by-step with a keen eye for detail  
• Ability to anticipate work, multi-task, prioritize assignments, and succeed in a fast-paced working environment 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to concisely present results and analyses to management
