Job Description

Accounting Associate

The Role:

Acceleration Partners has grown tremendously over the last several years and with this exciting growth has come increasingly complex financial and accounting requirements. This complexity has been compounded by our expansion into Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Australia – expansion that will only continue in 2023 and beyond. With over 300 employees spread over several countries, and a dedication to maintaining a profitable, cash-positive business, we are seeking an Accounting Associate who can help Acceleration Partners expand its capabilities and capacity to provide support with general accounting administrative tasks.  Reporting to the Global Controller, the Accounting Associate will be responsible for, but not limited to processing payroll, customer billing and receipts, monitoring accounts payable, and account reconciliations.

At Acceleration Partners, we have three core values that we apply to everything we do: Own It, Embrace Relationships, and Excel & Improve. This role requires accounting experience, critical thinking skills, and strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. If you are looking to expand your accounting skills within a professional services atmosphere, then this role is for you!

This person will have a history of owning it, assuming personal responsibility for these processes and demonstrating the ability to work independently and efficiently.  This person will have a demonstrated track record of embracing relationships by working closely with various members of a finance and accounting department.  And this person will have demonstrated the desire to excel & improve by both constantly looking for new ways to achieve operational excellence and thinking outside the box, evaluating refinements to the accounting processes, and showing a passion for continued learning.

Top Five Job Responsibilities:

  1. Payroll Processing: Liaise with our Talent & Culture department to accurately enter and process payroll on a semi-monthly basis.
  2. Accounts Receivable: Record and monitor payments received. Create weekly reporting and liaise with client teams on past due invoices to ensure successful collection.
  3. Customer Billing: Create and send monthly customer invoices for all three of our global entities. Work closely with our client services teams to ensure invoices are created accurately and customers are billed appropriately. Setup new client data within accounting ERP and complete any necessary client portal onboarding for them to remit payment successfully.
  4. Account Reconciliations: Perform account reconciliations for our bank accounts and credit cards to ensure all transactions have been recorded in our accounting system in the correct period(s).
  5. Ad-Hoc Requirements: Prepare journal entries and accounting schedules as part of the monthly financial statement close. Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed.

  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Display accountability, always meeting deadlines and keeping commitments
  • Know how to collaborate with team members and other internal teams in a remote environment while also working independently with minimal supervision.
