Who You Are

The perfect candidate for this position is someone with an accounting background, CPA and knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Also, we would hope this candidate has intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables. We are hoping they have 2-3 years of work experience in either an accounting or FP&A capacity. Finally, this candidate should have a BS in Accounting, Finance or a relevant degree.

Timing

We would like this hire to start as soon as possible so that they can be well trained before kicking off our financial statement audit starting early spring. 

What You’ll Do

You will assist the finance/accounting team with their daily duties, which involves the monthly close process (preparing monthly financials, invoicing, cash reconciliation, payable/receivables oversight, payroll and employee reimbursements), assisting with the preparation of board meeting materials, maintaining the company’s budget and forecasts in addition to being a lead player during our financial statement audit.

  • Correspond with senior management including Fitch/Hearst leaders, C-Suite on weekly basis
  • Updating the company’s monthly financial reporting package including;
    • Updating the model for actual financials once the books have closed, including all income statement and balance sheet line items
    • Updating customer count/client retention monthly
    • Preparing the budget to actual
    • Preparing MoM comparative reports
  • Assisting with the financial close process, including:
    • Cash reconciliation 
    • Invoice generation and distribution
    • Accounts receivable and accounts payable management
    • Recording monthly entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Facilitating the employee onboarding process
  • Process employee reimbursements by preparing and saving the appropriate documentation including the appropriate level of authorization and proof of purchase
  • Oversee all audit requests including but not limited to:
    • Being the forefront of communication with the senior level auditors
    • Scheduling meetings and managing requests lists and providing the team with daily status updates on outstanding items

In good faith our salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000 but are not tied to it. Final offer amount will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience, expertise, and other business considerations.
