MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Accounting Associate is to assist the Finance and Operations team to ensure the business remains profitable throughout all functions. They provide cross-functional support to help streamline operations, manage expenses, and work closely with the Finance and Operations team to drive growth and meet company objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Attention to detail, Organization, Time Management, Analytical, Strong communication, Problem solving skills, Multitasking ability, Adaptable to change, Ability to work independently, Self-starter.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting or equivalent work experience
- 1-3 years work experience in an accounting role
- Basic knowledge of US GAAP
- Accurate and timely data entry skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-starter with a resolution mindset, able to work independently and are deadline-oriented
- Experience working in Excel, Quickbooks, SaaSOptics, or have a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software
- Experience working in a fast-growing startup environment
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate and QC customer invoices, demonstrating an understanding of licensing agreements and service level agreements.
- Provide customers with resolutions to various billing problems including invoice questions and payment issues.
- Manage the financial operations including A/R, A/P, general ledger and provide supporting documentation to accountants as needed.
- Handle employee expense reports and disbursements.
- Become a part of the Nextpoint team! Our onboarding flex program will introduce you to all aspects of Nextpoint with informative sessions on our processes, team structure and goals.
- Help monitor cash flow and drive the forecasting processes.
- Support the annual budget development.
- Prepare reports and present them to the manager.
- Demonstrate your technical knowledge by improving process efficiencies.
- Collaborate with accountants in preparation of tax filings.
- Assist with the 1099 filing and reporting.
