Accounting Associate

Job Overview As an Accounting Associate, you’ll support the accounting team with daily accounting operations and monthly closing tasks. You will gain hands-on experience in restaurant accounting practices—from reconciling daily sales to preparing financial reports. Responsibilities • Record daily financial transactions and reconcile restaurant sales with POS systems and bank statements • Process invoices, receipts, and payment runs (accounts payable and receivable) • Assist with month-end closing: journal entries, preparing income statements, and general ledger cleanup • Support recording of payroll, petty cash, and food/beverage revenue and costs • Reconcile vendor statements monthly and resolve discrepancies • Reconcile credit card transactions • Maintain accurate accounting records, filing, and data entry in QuickBooks Online • File invoices and documentation both electronically and in hard copy • Open and distribute mail daily • Deposit cash daily • Participate in other special projects or assignments Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or similar preferred • 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in hospitality, F&B, or high-volume environments • Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks and restaurant ERP). • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines • Clear, professional communication skills for internal and vendor interaction..
