Job Description
DirectDefense is looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our growing team. As an Accounting Clerk you will perform various clerical and routine accounting tasks while adhering to GAAP. This role involves completing sales tax submissions updating ledgers managing employee expenses and preparing financial reports. You will support the accounting team in ensuring accurate and timely financial operations.
Responsibilities:
Clerical & Routine Accounting Tasks:
• Perform various clerical and routine accounting tasks while adhering to GAAP.
• Complete monthly/quarterly/yearly sales tax submissions and assist with corporate tax filings.
• Update ledgers research and resolve discrepancies.
Expense Management:
• Conduct weekly review and payout of employee expense reporting and billable expense management.
Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and interpret financial summaries and provide reports to management on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Participate in month-end close activities including preparation of journal entries reconciliation of accounts sales tax computations and other accounting duties promptly.
Communication & Coordination:
• Respond appropriately to vendor client and internal requests promptly.
Experience:
• Proven experience in accounting or a related field.
• Familiarity with GAAP and standard accounting practices.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

As required by Colorado law under the California Equal Pay Act and California Labor Code Section 432.3 DirectDefense provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California. Actual compensation is influenced by various factors including but not limited to the candidate's skill set level of experience and specific geographic location within California. For positions based in Colorado and California the range of starting pay for this role is $50000 to $60000 per year.
