$73,900 - $142,300
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

This role will act as a "smoke jumper" position for the Controller Operations organizations. We provide support to Sandia employees for financial transactions, payments to employees and vendors, financial analysis and information to executive management, and financial assurance information to both internal and external entities.

Security Clearance

What Your Job Will Be Like
Organization 10511, Accounting Services, is currently seeking an Accounting-Cost Analyst to join their team!
The selected candidate will engage and interface/liaison with DOE, Inspector General, internal, and external audit staff involved in financial statement audits and other requests for information.
On any given day, one may be called upon to:
- Contribute toward any role in organization 10510
- Work multiple deliverables at the same time
- Provide support for various Group Subject Matter Experts (SME)
- Respond to audit requests and inquiries supporting quarterly DOE reporting, annual financial statements, and general reporting
Qualifications We Require
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a relevant field, plus 5 years related experience; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job
- The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance
Qualifications We Desire
- The ability to lead, collaborate, and present to internal and external partners with varying levels of experience and expertise
- Skill to properly analyze and determine proper accounting treatment for transactions
- Experience working with Oracle and/or equivalent accounting system
- Knowledge of and experience with standard project management practices
- An understanding of applicable standards and regulations, such as federal and U.S. DOE acquisition regulations, DOE Financial Management Handbook, Cost Accounting Standards, financial policy structure, DCAA ICE Model, and U.S. Government Auditing Standards
- The ability to correlate finance and accounting practices to compliance requirements
- Knowledge and an understanding of internal control systems
- Knowledge and an understanding of Quality concepts such as procedure documents, process mapping, decision trees, etc. that facilitate systems thinking and processes
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Data visualization, strong communication skills, and organization skills
- Advanced data analytics and data literacy skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- A willingness to learn new technology
- Experience with Controller Operations
- A Certified Public Accountant license
