We are seeking an Accounting Intern to join the Brookfield Properties U.S. Office Division in New York city. This is a 12-month rotational internship program beginning in June. In this role, you will play a key role in inspiring change and continual improvement. Interns will be exposed to the following rotation options: Fund Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Accounting, Corporate Reporting, Property Accounting, Development Accounting and Tax.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Year-round paid internship, with start date of June 2023
• Full-time (40 hrs/week from June to August; Part-time (16 hrs/week August to June)
• At least a 6-month commitment is expected
• Mentorship opportunities, coaching and career guidance
• Exposure to corporate culture and work environment through 6-month rotations into accounting related functions
• Ongoing presentations and training
• Emphasis on real estate and alternative investments accounting and/or finance functions
• Potential full-time offer upon graduation

Your Qualifications:

• Summer Accounting Intern: Rising junior or senior working towards a bachelor's degree in related major
• The ideal candidate will be service oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong team player with a good work ethic
• Must be flexible to come into the office
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Possess mature, tactful and professional demeanor
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work well under pressure and be self-motivated with a positive attitude
• Prior accounting internship or experience is a plus
• On track to complete 150 semester hours for CPA designation.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office including MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook
