Accounting Intern

SUMMARY:

Lockton Affinity, in Overland Park, KS is seeking candidates for its Accounting internship. Our Accounting internship is an opportunity for you to explore a variety of industry specific responsibilities by learning from our talented Accounting team. This 8-week internship will start on May 30th, 2023, and end on July 21st, 2023.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and research all significant reconciling items
• Process accounting transactions including journal entries, cash applications, and accounts payable
• Prepare accounts receivable summaries and analytical schedules
• Analyze balance sheet accounts by reviewing journal entries posted to accounts for accuracy, researching entries when necessary, and making needed corrections.
• Other projects as determined by management

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Demonstrated success in both academics and extracurricular activities
• Lockton Affinity looks for students ideally entering their senior year who are focused on a career in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
• Thorough knowledge of the following applications:
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Basic WordPress knowledge a plus
• High personal accountability and a willingness to do whatever is needed to get the job done
• Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills, handles work with efficiency
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
• Demonstrates initiative, self-reliance and a positive attitude
