How you will help us create value together:
As an Operations Accounting Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for the Operations Accounting Department. The Operations Accounting Department performs the accounting and financial support of the Manufacturing facility located in Milwaukee. Activities will include month-end financial reporting, financial forecasting, and business decision financial support.
This position will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee's Harbor District! The target start date for this role is Summer 2024 and has potential to be extended into the Fall 2024 school semester. We offer full-time hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the academic year.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Complete Journal Entry creation and posting
- Complete month end reconciliations and investigate/resolve any reconciling items
- Send out weekly and monthly financial reports
- Perform the physical audit of PP&E assets
Qualifications/Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Accounting, or similar, from an accredited college or university
- Junior, Senior, or master's level student in good academic standing
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards a goal
- Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous classroom and/or work experience in accounting and/or finance.
- Experience with Journal entry preparation, reconciliation preparation and financial statement review
- Natural curiosity regarding different aspects of an accounting department
- Interest in or aptitude to learn about careers in the heavy equipment industry
