Duration: 10 weeks, Paid Internship
Summary:
In this role, you will apply your coursework and analytical skills to perform a variety of accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, auditing, and analysis projects in a business setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly financial reporting responsibilities and related analysis
- Assist with aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Participate in monthly financial close process by preparing journal entries and reconciling various general ledger accounts
- Provide support to Cash Management Team with reconciliation of bank accounts and preparation of analysis and reports related to cash and investments
- Assist with expense budget analysis, including preparation of budget to actual reports.
- Support the Internal Audit Team with various internal control testing and related activities
- Assist with ad hoc projects
- Help analyze manual/paper intensive processes and gather requirements to convert to paperless processes
Relationships:
- The position reports directly to the Director of Accounting and our Accounting Manager and is part of the Finance and Accounting Department. This position requires collaboration at all levels of the organization and with other members of the Finance and Accounting Department.
- This position may work with outside parties, including vendors. This position will require no travel in order to meet those needs
Qualifications:
- Completion of at least sophomore year in college, majoring in Accounting, Finance, Business or other related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to work independently and with a team
- High attention to detail and accuracy
