The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the general ledger, account reconciliations and supporting other functions within the Accounting department in support of a specific Business Unit. This position will assist with the corporate month-end close process, working with various stakeholders (both internal and external) to achieve timely and accurate results and utilizing technical accounting skills to ensure that transactions are appropriately accounted for in accordance with GAAP. The position requires a well-rounded individual who has demonstrated the ability to deliver results in a high-growth, dynamic, and fast-paced environment. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and external audits.

• Assist in managing the preparation of monthly financial reporting for management and U.S. GAAP presentation, including tie-outs to underlying detail.

• Develop and implement the necessary checks and balances and maintaining important controls over general ledger and related monthly/quarterly/annual activity.

• Work closely with the Accounting Directors, Controller, peer Managers and Business Unit leaders to develop efficient, accurate and consistent methods of collecting and recording all accounting data.

• Complete month-end accounting close in timely manner, including reconciliations and financial statements.

• Prepare, review, and analyze business unit financial statements, researching fluctuations and trends.

• Proactively communicate and advise business unit leaders on financial results of various initiatives.

• Train, manage (as necessary), and coach new and existing staff to understand complete financial statements.

• Work closely with partners in the Business Unit, Finance, and IT, and strives to improve processes through automation while enhancing internal controls.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Experience managing accounting systems such as BlackLine, Concur, and general ledger systems.

• Should be familiar with GAAP and corporate accounting activities, including reconcilements and close-out processes.

• Mastery of various accounting software systems.

• Relies on past experiences and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

• Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Performs a variety of tasks.

• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

• Manages a specific accounting function.

Industry and Work Experience:

• 6+ years of relevant work experience.

• Prior supervisory experience required.

• Financial services accounting experience required.

Academic:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related business field required.

• Master's degree preferred.

• CPA certification preferred.
