Accounting Manager

Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for financial activities, such as planning and budgeting for all or part of the organizations - supervising a team of accounting specialists to ensure timely recording and reporting of all relevant financial activities.

This role will report to Downtown Fort Worth, 76102.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervise accountants and other employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, and budgeting duties.
• Assist in leading specific areas of special projects assigned within the department and perform special projects as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage the monthly accounting close to ensure the process runs smoothly and is completed on time and accurately.
• Review the trial balance for reasonableness, accuracy, and consistency.
• Review required reports.
• Manage the monthly revenue recognition from all income sources (Oil Field Services/Manufacturing, etc.)
• Manage monthly invoicing.
• Approve invoices for fees and review reconciliation of the related accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Review and approve all entries as it relates to individual customers and vendors.
• Assist with the preparation and review of the monthly Board reporting.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
• Assemble and compile budgets and budget reports.
• Review, prepare, and submit data for quarterly/annually SOX compliance testing, internal audit and outside auditors.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate information received from operating departments.
• Assist with the preparation and review of the revenue analysis and explanations for variance between periods.
• Coordinate the formulation and documentation of accounting standard operating procedures.

Skills and Proficiencies:

• Detailed understanding of overhead and manufacturing variance analyses.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Proficient in Excel and other MS Office Applications.
• Excellent communication, technology, analytical, and management skills are required.
• Excellent knowledge of GAAP and reporting regulations is required.
• Strong knowledge of relevant requirements and provisions under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act is required.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• At least five (5) years of progressive accounting responsible experience in a similar environment.
• Previous experience as an Accounting Manager and/or Oil and Gas accounting experience is highly valued.
• Track record of effective management and development of direct reports.

Other/Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
• Positions self to install equipment, including under desks.
• Moves throughout the building to access files.
• Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
