Accounting Manager

Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the training and supervision of the accounting team to executive the month end close on a timely manner as well as compliance with U.S. GAAP

Report to: Director of Accounting

Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute month-end close process to meet monthly financial reporting deadlines

• Ensure financial statements are in compliance with GAAP

• Review financials by departments, customer, and product 

• Coach and manage the team of three senior accountants/accountants

• Oversee proper accounting on financials, and not limited to prepare lease accounting, stock option accounting, and other technical accounting journal entries. Solid experience on ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718.

• Review and enhance the payroll and benefit reconciliation benefit as well as allocation validation

• Review department and customer allocation

• Ensure the accuracy of daily cash reconciliation and resolve any issues on a timely manner

• Review all GL account reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy

• Development of strong relationships with operations team and FP&A team and provide support for any inquiries

• Assist with external auditors on the interim-review and year-end audit

• Ensure proper coding and recording on AR and AP module and work closely with the AP and AR team

• Review the completeness and accuracy of managed service charges reconciliation between claim database and claims processed in the accounting system Partner with oversee accounting operation to include their financials to the reporting package

• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

Ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, detailed and number oriented. The ideal candidate should be prepared for ability to problem solving and working collaborative with other teams as they relate to the role and in a rapidly growing company.

• BA in Accounting is a must. Big Four Accounting Firm, or CPA is preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years Accounting, Finance, or administrative experience essential

• Managerial experience is required.

• Great attention to detail

• Advanced excel and analytical skills a must

• Experience with complex data management

• Experience with accounting systems & GL required; NetSuite strongly preferred.

• Strong time management

• Excellent communication skills

• Highly motivated, proactive, and efficient.

• Robust organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Willing and able to adapt to a high energy, fast paced environment.
