Accounting Manager

Innovative is hiring an Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team in a scaling business. This role involves managing staff and senior accountants, collaborating with the FP&A function, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Ideal candidates have experience in service-driven, tech-focused industries and deep knowledge of GAAP, including the ability to support rigorous audits. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, 6+ years of experience, and private equity background are strongly preferred.

What this role is responsible for:

· Maintaining and enforcing a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

· Managing an accounting team of Staff Accountants, Project Accountants, and Senior Staff Accountants

· Planning, directing, and coordinating all monthly close activities

· Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results

· Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements

· Coordinating activities of external auditors

· Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process including weekly cash forecasting

· Assessing current accounting operations, often reinventing processes and changing procedures to support our growth and scale

· Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance

· Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff

· Overseeing and managing AR, AP, GL, and risk management

· Regularly evaluating and improving upon insurance, banking/credit card relationships, and related vendors

· Owning and improving the close process, implementing changes necessary to support a 3-day monthly close cycle

· Managing cash controls, cash forecasts, and optimizing for income tax savings opportunities while measuring and improving upon DSO

Experience Needed to be Successful in this Role:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, with MBA or CPA a plus, and 5-10 years of progressive responsibility

· 4-5 years of relevant experience in a services-based organization, preferably one that is PE backed

· Comfortable leading a function with the rigor and scale to support a Big 4 audit

· Professional services experience in a technology-first market would be ideal but not required

· Proficiency in GAAP

· Software Proficiency in:

· Sage Intacct

· Datto/ServiceNow/ConnectWise

· Expense Management systems
