Position Description

The Accounting Manager will support our accounting department and our business growth by working closely with our Asset Management and Controllership teams, offering support by monitoring and analyzing accounting data as well as producing financial reports, distribution calculations, and financial statements.

The Accounting Manager is a regular, full-time position, and is eligible for our generous employee benefits package, including employer paid health insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions, and other great benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage one or more centralized accounting functions (leases, fixed assets, etc.) within the Origis Resources group.
  • Ensure all transactions in the general ledger are recorded and documented accurately, completely, and timely in SAP in accordance with GAAP.
  • Work with the rest of the Origis Resources accounting team to complete the monthly accounting close for each project.
  • Perform and review account reconciliation for significant balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow accounts.
  • Prepare and review distribution calculations in accordance with equity partnership agreements.
  • Establish strong relationships with the Origis Asset Management team to be the “go to” accounting source for solar power projects.
  • Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and financial reports.
  • Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing of invoices for each project.
  • Identify and recommend updates and automation to accounting, reporting, cash management, and financial planning systems, processes, and policies.
  • Support external and internal audits as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Certified public accountant (CPA) is preferred.
  • Public Accounting experience a plus.
  • GAAP accounting experience is required.
  • Experience with ASC-842 Lease accounting, Fixed Assets, ARO, or Revenue recognition is preferred.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • 5+years of experience required in a progressive financial accounting, technical accounting and/or reporting.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Experience in a project-oriented operating environment would be an asset.
  • Renewable energy experience would be an asset.

Travel                  Up to 10% travel required as necessary

This position requires frequent in-person collaboration, and as such, the Accounting Manager must be willing to work from our office in Miami, FL.
