Description

Abbyson is looking for a dynamic individual to join as Accounting Manager within our Accounting/Finance department to manage daily accounting functions and to oversee the accounting staff. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Manager will be an essential member of the team. The Accounting Manager will supervise accounting staff and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter individual with strong analytical skills with a string b background in Accounting in a consumer product company. This role should have the ability to quickly comprehend the business operations and functioning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee accounts payable. 
• Lead monthly closing process including review and post journal entries, review account and reconciliations.
• Process cash receipts with accuracy and timeliness in recording and reconciliation.
• Maintain and manage General Ledger for accurate financial transaction recording.
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Assist the Corporate Controller in banking/treasury functions.
• Maintain appropriate internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial and management reports.
• Ensure the monthly and quarterly control activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
• Work with direct reports to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of team.
• Special projects as directed by Controller.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting
• Microsoft Great Plains experience is preferred but not required.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in supervisory role in general accounting/finance, including in-depth understanding of the Account payable and General Ledger.
• Advanced skills and experience in Excel id needed, Access is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Great organizational skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple high priorities in a fast-paced environment and have a willingness to learn.
