We’re looking for a qualified Accounting Manager to keep our company’s and clients’ numbers and budgets on track with unwavering accuracy. The most successful people will have a strong understanding of the intricacies of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, payroll processing and other financial transaction within an organization. As an Accounting Manager in a small electronic payment systems company, your role would involve several key responsibilities involved in accounting and financial management, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting and staff management.

Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company.
  • Managing the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. Your expertise in QuickBooks would be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records and generating timely reports.
  • Responsible for tracking inventory levels, coordinating with the purchasing department to ensure sufficient stock, and conducting periodic inventory audits.
  • Utilize QuickBooks to track inventory quantities, values, and generate inventory reports.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and manage the company's budget. This involves monitoring expenses, analyzing variances, and providing recommendations to align the budget with the company's financial goals.
  • Utilize QuickBooks in creating budget templates, tracking expenses, and generating budget-to-actual reports.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax requirements is an essential aspect of the accounting manager role.
  • Coordinates external audits, implementing internal controls, and preparing financial statements for auditing purposes.
  • Supervises a team of two staff accountants. This involves assigning tasks, providing guidance and support, conducting performance evaluations, and facilitating their professional development.
  • Utilize QuickBooks to streamline accounting processes, generate accurate financial reports, and improve overall efficiency in managing the company’s finances.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
  • 8+ years of related experience required.
  • Inventory management experience required.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
