Job Description
You'll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting, account reconciliations, revenue recognition, financial analysis, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, banking, and closing out of monthly financial statements. Responsibilities:
- Manage financial close and consolidation process for both US and international entities
- Responsible for ongoing management of chart of accounts and accuracy in general ledger
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including actual vs plan reporting and analysis
- Reconciliation of accounts, including review and preparation of journal entries
- Preparation of GST and other such tax reporting and research on compliance matters
- Oversight of subscription management, invoicing and accounts receivable
- Compile and analyze daily/weekly/monthly financial and operating metrics reporting for management and board
- Assist VP of Finance in preparation and analysis of monthly and annual operating budgets
- Manage and improve financial controls in accordance with the company's procedures
- Manage the preparation of payroll for staff through our professional employment agency
- Responsible for providing documentation and feedback on business workflow
Requirements
- Bachelor's (BS) Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study
- CPA Preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in fast-paced company where you were involved in general ledger related activities, preferably in a senior accounting role
- An individual with broad experience beyond general ledger and month-end close, seeking to have a significant impact
- Working knowledge of SaaS applications - ideally including some combination of Xero, Salesforce, Slack, Chargebee, ChartMogul, Fathom, NetSuite and Intact.
- Strong technical accounting acumen with hands-on knowledge of international accounting and revenue recognition standards.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Self-directed and motivated towards leveraging technology for efficiency and transparency
- Ability to meet deadlines and work closely with a senior management team
