Accounting Manager

We are looking for the first member of Blank Street's Accounting team. As our Accounting Manager, your core objective will be to build a world-class accounting org and function that provides support & fuel to the company's growth initiatives. You will start off as an Independent Contributor for 1-2 months with support from outsourced accounting teams to get familiar with our business and procedures (operational accounting, month-end close, inventory, AP/AR, treasury, tax etc.). As you get ramped up, you will be required to build out a world class team within each key function.

This role is on our finance team and will report into our Finance Lead.

• Lead a team of accounting professionals with responsibilities for the general ledger, AR/AP, and all reporting systems while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal management reporting requirements.
• Manage monthly financial close in a timely and accurate manner, including preparation of reconciliations of all revenue and expense accounts, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, journal entries, review of inventory, and variance analysis.
• Evaluate, develop, and implement accounting policies and controls, including documentation and technical memos.
• Work closely with Facility Operations teams for routine 4-wall location reporting & analysis, including budget vs actual reporting, while ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Manage revenue recognition and master the order to cash/delivery process.
• Manage annual audit and tax filings with Big 4 Firms.
• Manage equipment leases and accounting for operating and capital leases.
• Partner with department leaders to understand key issues and business drivers and collaborate with FP&A team to maintain financial model and forecasts, and increase efficiency of periodic reporting.

• 5-8 years of relevant experience in both public and private accounting: Big Four accounting firm and/or large bank experience preferred, CPA is a plus
• Knowledge of and experience with ERP systems and implementations, Quickbooks, Bill.com, Marketman are a plus
