Accounting Manager

Your Role

As an Accounting Manager, you will be directly responsible for managing a team of payables, accounting and payroll staff located in the US and India.  This hire will lead the team through accurate monthly, quarterly and year end close processes in accordance with US GAAP by coordinating and reviewing accounting for fixed assets, prepaids, payables and accrued expenses and reviewing monthly results in partnership with the greater Finance organization.   Additionally, they will supervise a payroll specialist and perform the review and approval of payroll for Dialpad, Inc. and foreign subsidiaries.   This hire will play a key role in defining optimal processes with appropriate internal controls for efficiency and accuracy. 

What you'll do

• Assist with month-end financial close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, payroll and payable related items.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of general ledger activities in accordance with month, quarter and year-end reporting deadlines under US GAAP for the Company and its subsidiaries
• Coordinate accounting for the international subsidiaries with the assistance of the local teams and maintain the reconciliation of intercompany accounts and payments 
• Reconcile and manage payables, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll, lease, deposits and other asset and liability accounts
• Drive the implementation and adoption of the Procure to Pay process in collaboration with the Business Technology team  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to improve and standardize accounting processes
• Manage and mentor AP staff and accountants for continuous growth and career development.
• Work with external auditors to complete ongoing compliance requirements and assist in preparation of financial statements 
• Create and document accounting month-end close policies and procedures for the GL team
• Become a pro within the current accounting software environment (NetSuite) and directly assist with implementation projects for new modules, workflows and processes 
• Recognize and clearly communicate actionable opportunities for financial performance and continuous process improvements across the company. The Accounting Manager will be expected to make process improvement recommendations.
• Assist in implementation of new policies and procedures and lead ad hoc projects as needed.

Skills you bring

• Minimum of 8 years of experience including 2+ years of management experience with procure to pay, close and payroll processes 
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP 
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to put them to use managing a multi-national team in a high growth environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
• Ability to identify process improvements and recommendations
• Ability to manage priorities while working under pressure and tight deadlines
• Attention to detail, organized and strong work ethic
• Positive self-starter with high level of ethics and integrity
• Experience with Intacct, Netsuite or similar software and their implementations preferred
