Title:  Accounting Manager

Location:  San Francisco, CA.

Terms:  Full-Time/Permanent

Travel:  Not Required

Overview: As an Accounting Manager, you will be a key contributor and leader for the financial operations of our rapidly growing company. You will be responsible for providing technical accounting expertise, improvement of financial processes, and development of a high performing accounting team. You must be a hands-on, roll up your sleeves type of manager and should enjoy a fast-paced, start-up environment. The position requires strong financial, accounting and management skills,  and the ability to understand the big picture while being detail oriented

Responsibilities:

• A key contributor to establishing a solid foundation for audit-ready close and internal control processes, as well as addressing technical accounting needs as the Company scales.  
• Manage the financial close process, as well as prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations
• Manage the order to cash process, including customer contract review and understanding the revenue recognition implications to propose appropriate accounting treatment 
• Manage the procure to pay process 
• Manage the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns and other statutory, compliance filings in collaboration with external firms
• Develop and standardize accounting and operational policies and procedures with a focus on continuous improvement and systems 
• Manage and assist with special projects as needed (e.g. audit preparation, system implementations, FP&A support)
• Oversee daily accounting operations. Supervise and mentor accounting staff  

Basic Qualifications: 

• Accounting Manager or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience 
• CPA license
• Solid understanding of GAAP, including ASC 606, ASC 605, ASC 340-40.
•  Advanced excel and system skills
• Strong, analytical communication (verbal and written), project management and business partnering skills

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Startup and SAAS experience
• Systems experience in NetSuite, Avalara,Expensify, Salesforce, Looker or similar systems
