Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for leading and overseeing all accounting and month end close activities relating to administration and corporate accounting
  • Understand and approve monthly schedules, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversee Travel & Entertainment process, practices and accounting
  • Responsible for Fixed Asset accounting and reporting
  • Lead & assist in integration of systems, policies, and practices
  • Assist in the timely preparation of quarterly and annual reporting package
  • Perform analytical review of financial results
  • Respond to inquiries regarding reporting results and balances
  • Maintain general ledger functions and structure
  • Oversee the development and implementation testing policies and procedures for general ledger
  • Lead and oversee current information technology objectives for Finance & Accounting
  • Assist with external audit engagements
  • Maintain sound and compliant internal control platform across the entire company
  • Oversee and maintain company policy and procedure indexing and formal review
  • Drive reporting consistencies and improvements across multiple businesses
  • Ensure consistent compliance with internal controls, corporate accounting standards, GAAP, IFRS and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Communicate with co-workers, management and company personnel in a courteous, timely and professional manner
  • Perform any other duties, projects or analysis as directed by the Company

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum of 7+ years of accounting experience required
  • CPA certification is a plus
  • Public accounting experience is a plus
  • Prior experience in managing teams or leading projects
  • Large organization/corporate ($1+ billion in sales) experience preferred. Trading and/or Merchandising industry experience is a plus
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely in both oral and written formats
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to work and interact well with others

Special Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time
  • Position requires operation of a computer and other standard office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator, computer printer up to 90% of the time
  • Frequently communicates with employees in the office and at remote locations
