With this continued growth, our client is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join our growing team in Medford, MA. The Accounting Manager will play a key role within the Finance team, working under the Controller to take over day-to-day transactional responsibilities within the department. Provide direction & guidance to members of the Accounting team, including billing, collections, accounts payable and the accountant roles. Work with the team to strengthen processes, internal controls and increase the integrity and accuracy of our financial statements.

Responsibilities

ยท Prepare monthly financial statements, business activity reporting, financial forecasts on a regular basis.
ยท Manage the month end, quarterly, and year-end closing process, reporting and related analysis.
ยท Prepare, review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
ยท Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
ยท Manage general ledger accounting function.
ยท Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts.
ยท Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the attention of the Controller.
ยท Oversee maintenance of daily cash management.
ยท Management of staff performance against job accountabilities as well as individual and company objectives; assistance to staff in the resolution of issues or problems as they arise; provide feedback on job performance and opportunities for professional development.
ยท Work towards continuous improvement utilizing technology to improve timeliness of financial reporting and accuracy.
ยท Assist with construction project billing, including AIA billing formats.
ยท Partner with the Procurement Manager once the new inventory system is implemented to work on cost accounting
ยท Maintain current knowledge of organization policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
ยท Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

ยท Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university in Accounting.
ยท At least 5 years experience in Accounting in a commercial or industrial institution.
ยท Demonstrated thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting practices and procedures, as well as general business principles and practices.
ยท Knowledge of current and developing financial reporting requirements, including supporting the implementation of changes for ongoing compliance, training & communication.
ยท Strong problem-solving skills with proactive approach to identifying problems and opportunities for improvement supported by clear analysis and recommendation.
ยท Ability to work independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
ยท Excellent verbal and written communication skills
ยท Computer skills required: Familiarity with Accounting Software, preferably Financial Force; Inventory Software; CRM system, preferably Salesforce.com
