The Role

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Finance team.  As an integral member of the team, you will play a key role in supporting & scaling our processes and systems as we expand our rapidly growing business in new verticals. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives on taking full ownership of their work, is eager to grow and develop, and possesses a keen eye for the fine details while also maintaining a big picture lens. This role reports into the Controller and will be based in our Seattle office.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the month-end close process with oversight across the entire general ledger, including preparing and recording journal entries
  • Partner with internal and external teams to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of all accounting processes
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and standard monthly reports
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses and support on projects as needed
  • Oversee and evolve the AP, AR, and payroll processes
  • Coordinate with external auditors and assist with year-end financial audit activities
  • Create and implement a process around E-Commerce sales tax compliance, identifying new states where nexus has been established, collecting and remitting sales tax. 
  • Handle new state registrations and manage compliance with various tax agencies
  • Establish accounting policies and best practices to adapt to changes in our business and ensure compliance with GAAP; federal, state, and local tax requirements; and internal financial policies and procedures

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm a plus!
  • High-growth start-up experience required
  • Experience in E-commerce and Inventory management required
  • Prior experience with sales and state and local tax
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP
  • Direct working experience with Netsuite
  • Advanced spreadsheet and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A willingness to get your hands dirty -- you enjoy a scrappy, entrepreneurial environment where everyone pitches in to get the job done

Compensation Range

$110,000-120,000/yr. Note that final compensation is subject to the candidate’s specific qualifications and location, as well as the needs of the company.

The Company currently provides medical, vision, and dental insurance with 100% of the employee  medical, vision, and dental premiums covered by the Company.  There is an option to participate in both a medical FSA and dependent care FSA. We offer a 401(k) plan, with fully matching contributions up to 3% of salary and 50% matching from 3% to 5% of salary.  You will be eligible for Paid Time Off in accordance with the company’s policies. Our Seattle-based employees will receive commuter benefits. This position is eligible to participate in the company’s annual bonus plan.
