Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager will lead and drive improvements in the day-to-day accounting operations of a SaaS Software business. The position will serve as the technical accountant for the department, researching accounting standards when applicable and ensuring compliance with US GAAP.  They will supervise AR and AP staff and ensure processes are operating efficiently This person will play a key role in our annual financial audit and work with other departments to ensure cross-functional alignment. Additional functions include, preparing financial reports and analysis, and liaison with the Finance team on budgeting and forecasting activities. The person will also assist the Controller in all aspects related to accounting at the organization. This candidate should be comfortable partnering with cross-functional teams to drive improvement across the organization and be comfortable reporting for a wide array of local and foreign entities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting functions, including revenue operations, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the general ledger.
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606 software licensing and SaaS arrangements and ASC 350-40 accounting for software and cloud computing arrangement costs
  • Key lead & contact for external audit.
  • Document processes and accounting memos.
  • Lead the preparation, completeness, and accuracy of all aspects of the monthly financial close processes in partnership with others on the team, monitoring close progression and ensuring that tasks are completed in an efficient and sustainable way and in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist the Controller with purchase accounting for acquisitions and other GAAP compliance related projects
  • Preparation and review of monthly journal entries and review monthly reconciliations
  • Manage consolidation and intercompany transactions
  • Manage accounts receivable, A/R metrics and reporting
  • Manage sales tax reporting software
  • Work with outside tax preparers for annual and quarterly international and federal returns
  • Establish a business relationship with internal and external clients.
  • Supervise, develop, and coach staff accountants
  • Participate in corporate initiatives to improve processes
  • Able to meet strict deadlines and work with limited supervision
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • CPA license, Big 4 or regional public accounting firm.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience managing/ supervising at least 2 people
  • 7+ years similar experience in a corporate setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Tremendous ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice to have:

  • Saas industry experience is a plus
  • Previous experience working with an ERP system is required (NetSuite preferred).
