Accounting Manager, Americas
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Finance team in America. This role reports to the Director of Accounting - Americas, and will supervise one employee with possible room to grow. They will be responsible for the month-end close activities for four legal entities in the Americas. This member will have a heavier focus on revenue, to ensure contracts are being accounted for accurately. They will play an advisory role in the order-to-cash business process improvement in a highly transactional and complex system environment. - Oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings, including but not limited to the review of monthly income statement and balance variance analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review customer contracts, and ensure revenue and deferred revenue are properly accounted for under ASC 606;
- Ensure accurate accounting for all expenses, fixed assets, internally capitalized software development costs, prepayment, RSU, and debt;
- Ensure accurate inter-company service billing, settlement and reconciliation within the Kaleyra Group entities;
- Liaise with internal and external auditors in order to enable an effective and timely audit in their respective roles;
- Follow policies, procedures and controls to facilitate timely, accurate and consistent reporting of financial results and ensure compliance with financial and legal reporting requirements in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act
Requirements
- Education:
- MBA/Bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting.
- CPA required
- 5+ years of relevant experience with at least 3 years of supervisory experience
- Previous experience with Oracle NetSuite;
- Practical knowledge and experience with ASC 606 and ASC 842
- Practical knowledge and experience in standing up the order-to-cash process
- Strong experience in the tech industry
- Previous experience with a SEC registrant
- Previous experience in a Big4 or public accounting firm
- Consolidation, cashflow experience
