This role will provide senior level support to the Corporate Accounting Team, Financial Planning and Analytics Team, Financial Reporting Group, and Enviva Executives. This individual will have responsibility for all key aspects of general ledger accounting, analytics, Sox Compliance, and lease accounting for Enviva Inc and its subsidiaries.  At Enviva, this team member will become proficient in the use of Microsoft D365, Lease Query, FloQast, and will have the opportunity to make a difference across multiple functional areas within the organization.

Responsibilities

Maintain Close Calendar and Reconcile Balance Sheet Accounts

  • Executing monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation processes within a seven-business day closing schedule
  • Managing the monthly global intercompany reconciliation process to include ensuring the proper elimination of intercompany transactions;
  • Preparing assigned balance sheet reconciliations and P&L variance analyses;
  • Preparing timely and accurate consolidated Enviva Holdings, LP financial statements in accordance with US GAAP;
  • Compiling and providing accounting documents, schedules, and other relevant information to support the Enviva Holdings, LP annual audit;
  • Reviewing international subsidiary financial submissions to include the analysis of monthly impacts of cumulative translation adjustments;
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes;
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders and create a collaborative team environment; and
  • Contributing to Corporate projects and initiatives as assigned.

Internal & External Reporting and Account Analysis

  • Preparing statement of cash flows and partners’ capital schedules along with all supporting documents or schedules
  • Preparing monthly actual vs. prior period presentations for monthly executive finance review meetings;
  • Preparing Corporate departmental reporting to include variance analyses between actual results and budgeted/forecasted expectations;
  • Collaborate with various business units and departments in performing financial analyses and preparing management reports

SOX Compliance

  • Constantly work to improve pre-existing processes and identify areas for improvement within all the accounting functions. 
  • Develop new processes and procedures to be implemented in a fast and growing environment and assist in implementing identified changes.
  • Participate in process walkthrough, test of controls, and provide accounting documents, schedules, and other relevant information to support the audit.
  • Ensure internal controls are operating effectively and executed timely
  • Ensure compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX 404) by maintaining effective internal controls over financial reporting.

Required Qualifications 

  • A. /B.S. in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3+ years of experience required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of public accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Strong financial reporting and accounting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities, organized with attention to detail.
  • Organized and efficient. Motivated self-starter that is comfortable working in unstructured environment

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work with a minimum of three days a week in the office and ability to work two from home.
