Job Description

The General Ledger Manager is responsible for the production of accurate and timely company financial statements in accordance with GAAP and the oversight of all company books and records. Oversees Financial Audit, General Ledger, Revenue Recognition, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Asset functions. Maintain, monitor, and update departmental accounting and processing controls. Supports business leaders with analysis of historical results, and ad hoc analysis as needed. Supervise and mentor two accounting professionals.

The ideal candidate is located within commuting distance to CCC's headquarters in Danvers, MA and has the ability to work in the office periodically to collaborate with colleagues, attend meetings and team functions, sometimes on short notice.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee the accounting and record keeping of all transactions in accordance with GAAP and company policy. Produce consolidated company financial statements. Assure that accounts are stated accurately. Verify the integrity of data for all operating system general ledger interfaces and reports. Prepare timely monthly financial statements and key reporting metrics including the analysis of company performance vs. prior periods, years, and budget.
  • Responsible for the interim and year-end financial audit
  • Responsible for timely consolidation of all domestic and international business units and/or subsidiaries.
  • Provide accuracy and integrity of accounting for currency translations.
  • Recommends process and control enhancements to general accounting functions to promote efficiencies, decrease closing time and allow more timely and useful data to finance and senior management. Then implement those enhancements and provide training as needed.
  • Supervise and direct the two Senior Accountants responsible for recording all standard journal entries, maintaining fixed asset records, performing account reconciliations, including the preparation of accurate financial reports.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable function (excluding distributions to Rightsholders) in accordance with GAAP and CCC policy. Determine that all expenditures are approved per CCC's financial authorization policy. Properly accrue for incurred but unpaid invoices.
  • Assist business leaders as needed and make recommendations to finance management for process improvements or changes as a result of changes in business.
  • Track items subject to abandoned property rules, including sending out due diligence letters and filing abandoned property returns for all states.
  • Ensure compliance with any debt instruments to which CCC may be a party.
  • Prepare the forecast for assigned areas.
  • Maintain and drive the development of accounting policies.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, CPA preferred.
  • 8+ years related work experience; 2 years within public accounting.
  • 3+ years leadership experience
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced Excel capabilities
  • General knowledge of ERP systems
