Accounting Manager, Technical Accounting

JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager, Accounting Policy and Accounting Support is focused on implementing consistent accounting policies on a global basis to ensure high quality financial reporting, preparing technical position papers, and acting as liaison with business units and external auditors. Additionally, this individual assists in a variety of special projects, as needed and support the businesses in understanding the accounting implications of various transactions or contracts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:• Writing and/or revising accounting policies• Maintenance of accounting policy manual and chart of accounts to ensure high quality financial reporting• Provides U.S. GAAP support to the Divisional and Corporate Finance leaders • Conducts technical accounting research and writes technical position memos/white papers for accounting and disclosure matters• Develops accounting training programs for finance organization related to new or updated policies• Evaluate policy deviation requests from BUs and review with CAO as necessary• Act as the accounting liaison for transactions or other enterprise-wide projects including reading contracts, providing guidance on accounting treatment, writing whitepapers, reviewing entries to record accounting implications, etc.• Assist with various technical accounting topics including, but not limited to, PP&E, Goodwill, Going Concern, Intangibles, acquisition and divesture accounting, and impairment analysis• Liaison with business and external valuation experts as needed• Assist financial reporting group with F/S and F/N preparation as needed• Ad-hoc projects, as requested

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent, required; CPA certification or equivalent, required

EXPERIENCE: 5 - 7 years of experience, preferably recent BIG 4 public accounting firm experience, experience with carve-out financial statements, business combination accounting, and revenue recognition preferable.

REQUIREMENTS: • CPA or equivalent is required, including a thorough understanding of US GAAP and GAAS• Strong oral, written, presentation communication skills• Significant capability, drive, and initiative to create and manage own work agenda and work independently• Strong Microsoft Office skill (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)• Ability to travel up to 0-10% to support any global implementations or training accounting teams, as needed.
