Tacombi is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team!

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the accounting operation related to the company’s corporate headquarters.
Additionally, they will have ownership of technical areas of fixed assets, lease accounting. They will participate heavily in
the annual audit and on ad hoc projects. The Accounting Manager will work together with the Corporate Controller to
develop the people, process and systems required to drive accounting operation efficiency while sustaining business
expansion. They must actively inspire and teach skills that will elevate the core values and mission of Tacombi.

The Accounting Manager is a licensed or tracking to license CPA with strong knowledge of GAAP in the restaurants, retail
and E-commerce. Technical experience includes, but is not limited to, revenue recognition, fixed assets, lease accounting.
A track record of team leadership is also desirable as the Accounting Manager will oversee the team of senior and staff
accountants.

The Accounting Manager is a leader in the finance organization. They must actively inspire and teach skills that will
elevate the core values and mission of Tacombi. This position will initially report to the Chief Financial Officer until the
Corporate Controller is in place.


Key Responsibilities:

Month-End Close: (40%)

    • Own, direct and complete week-end, month-end close.
    • Prepare and review account reconciliations and journal entries.  
    • Ensure proper treatment under GAAP.
    • Prepare variance analysis and participate in month-end financial review.
    • Own Fixed asset and lease accounting
    • Ensure corporate office cost center financials are accurate

Lease Accounting: (20%)

    • Liaise with Development Team, review newly signed leases and update lease information in Lucernex.
    • Calculate % Rent in accordance with lease terms.
    • Process monthly rent batches.
    • Review CAM/RE Tax Reconciliations.
    • Prepare rent tax submissions.
    • Manage relationships with Landlords.
    • Update accounting policies and procedures as needed.

Fixed Assets: (20%)

    • Process fixed asset transactions for asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers.
    • Coordinate Construction in Progress (CIP) monitoring to ensure that open CIP accounts are capitalized
      into the asset accounts on a timely basis.
    • Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets and update detailed schedules of fixed assets and accumulated
      depreciation.
    • Update the policies and procedures for fixed assets and capitalization policy as needed.

Personnel: (10%)

    • Train and develop accounting team.
    • Establish individual goals, assist in department goals and drive accountability.
    • Cultivate open environment that encourages learning and sharing of ideas.
    • Evaluate and make suggestions for department workload and staffing.

Other Duties and Ad hoc Projects: (10%)

    • Ownership of functional areas of annual audit
    • Provide support to cross-functional teams.
    • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as requested.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
    • Currently licensed or on track for CPA
    • Big 4 experience a plus
    • 4-6 years of accounting experience in the hospitality or retail industry a plus
    • Experience in a tech-enabled environment
    • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Flexibility and openness to innovation
    • Deadline and detail oriented
    • Most importantly, you have a love for tacos
