Accounting Manager/Controller

Repsonsiblities:

• Manages the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the organization including managing books, payables, receivables and vendor relationships. 
• Creates and maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
• Oversees the timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting process, including coordinating the preparation and the review of business activity, financial statements and reporting, and annual budget; Reporting to the leadership teams.
• Leads the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management. Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
• Partners with the outside accounting firm to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial requirements.
• Drives continuous improvement efforts to ensure the accurate flow of data from operations to financial ledgers.
• Responsible for technical accounting research and interpretations to ensure financial compliance, department systems, policies, practices, and procedures.
• Jointly with the outsourced fund administrators, drives the preparation of quarterly financial statements, capital account statements, portfolio company summary reports and tax returns for multiple joint ventures/funds.
• Assists auditors, gathering and providing information and documents needed for inquiries from corporate partners.
• Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA highly desired. 6+ years of experience, experience in financial capacity within a Private Equity, Family office or Venture Capital firm.
• Comprehensive and current understanding of US GAAP, including recently issued accounting pronouncements, and SEC reporting principles and regulations.
• Able to work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work autonomously and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experience working through ambiguity to communicate clear accounting positions and operational solutions.
• Excellent knowledge of QuickBooks, the company will expect you to lead them into the next phase of accounting software selection.
• Excellent knowledge of invoicing, ledgering, managing cash-flow and other accounting disciplines.
• High degree of personal integrity and professionalism, exhibiting self motivation, persistence, and dependability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in the technology industry and early stage ventures is a plus.
