Accounting Operations Analyst
Job Description
Work closely with the Accounting Operations team as it is responsible for identifying, documenting, and implementing process improvements. Provides oversight, direction, and guidance on highly visible and complex process improvement initiatives. Coordinates efforts of team with other departments to ensure effective and efficient delivery and implementation of improvements
Key job responsibilities
- Researches and gains in-depth understanding of current processes and formally documents new areas of process improvement.
- Improving Account Operations processes with the aim of automating them in the area of transactional, reporting and controllership.
- Driving continuous improvement and standardization of processes, including implementation of best practices
- Mentoring and supporting team members
- Partner with other inter-related area process owners to drive critical process improvements and automation within the Accounts Receivables and Payables lifecycle, and other functional areas, including mapping of current state processes, assessment of pain points, gaps, and interdependencies, and design and implementation of future state solutions
- Measure, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of process improvements post implementation and make appropriate future enhancements to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
- Establish and promote continuous process improvement mindset and practices through KPI/metric target-setting and monitoring, process mining, and enablement training
- Develop and maintain standardized operating procedures that reduce process variation while allowing for flexibility and scale
- Collaborate and contribute to the creation, deployment, and maintenance of process best practices and documentation
- Supports formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area
- Perform transactional activities related to the accounts receivables operation as required
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities of an Accounts Receivable Manager:
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Strong critical thinking, research, problem solving and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel
- Effective communication skills; verbal and written with proficiency in grammar and punctuation
