Accounting Project Manager - Express Scripts - Hybrid

The Accounting Project Manager will play a key role in executing on key initiatives for the Evernorth Accounting team and will report to the Accounting Director for the Evernorth Accounting Center of Excellence. This is an opportunity to be intricately involved in significant Enterprise initiatives, interfacing with matrix partners throughout Cigna and Evernorth. This role does not involve monthly close responsibilities, rather the role is focused on understanding and driving the execution of the business needs of our accounting stakeholders. The Accounting Project Manager will ensure accounting policy and financial compliance is assessed for relevant projects.

Responsibilities:

• Executes on the project management (including design, development, and implementation) of high-priority accounting related projects including the creation of process mapping.
• Effectively leads change management efforts.
• Identifies and leads continuous process improvement efforts in the Evernorth Accounting organization.
• Collaborates and effectively communicates with matrix partners within and outside of accounting to influence decisions, change and enable business projects.
• Defines and manages schedule, risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies related to deliverables
• Creates leadership-facing presentation, dashboards, and reporting as the needs arise.
• Possesses accounting and project management knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
• 8+ years of accounting and project management experience, or experience working with these teams preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong project management skills
• High level of confidence in public speaking
• Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make decisions with minimal supervision
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively with other departments to drive solutions
• Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines with a strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Self-starter, quick learner and team player with an enterprise mindset
