Accounting & Reporting Manager

Job Description:

The Mars Wrigley North America Accounting & Reporting Manager is responsible for analyzing financial information to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial reporting. This includes collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information driven by actual business results and compliance with accounting policies. The Accounting & Reporting Manager is also responsible for coordinating with the business and finance associates with regard to the determination of the appropriate accounting for new transactions and/or policy/accounting standard changes. The role requires partnership with multiple stakeholders including the Mars Wrigley North American Financial Controller, SFO, Segment Controller team, the Demand and Supply finance organization, ICTC, and others to identify and deliver improved efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and controls within the close and reporting cycle. This role requires an expertise in accounting principles and a high-level of digital capability as it focuses on analysis of results and providing insights to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financials and continuous improvements.

What are we looking for?

• University degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent job experience a must; Graduate level degree (Preferred)
• +5 years experience working in a corporate environment and/or public accounting firm
• CPA or other professional certification (Preferred)
• Thorough understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and technical accounting
• Strong analytical and reporting skills and ability to translate into business insights
• High attention to detail and ability to handle highly confidential information
• Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively with all levels
• Experience with integrated financial systems and processes, SAP preferred
• Ability to manage varying stakeholders internal and external to the organization including, business and finance partners within Mars Wrigley North America, Mars Wrigley Global Controllership, Mars, Inc. Controllership, Internal Audit and PwC.
• Capability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision
• Strong Excel skills and other data analytical tools
• Ability to understand & use higher level mathematics and accounting
• Digitally savvy, with strong user and problem-centric approach
• Consumer Product Goods industry experience (Required)
• SAP Experience or Equivalent ERP system (Preferred)

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Herein the term "Mars Wrigley North America" will be referred to as the "Region." • Address Finance Manual questions regarding proper accounting and drive compliance;• Business partnering to provide accounting guidance and perspective on all new accounting processes under consideration;• Perform periodic business performance reviews to ascertain the quality of the regional financial statements and provide insights on financial results; Provide insights on financial results;• Ensure timely delivery of period close financials and submissions by supporting period, quarter, and year-end activities in partnership with the shared service center;• Business partnering to design efficient and effective solutions for process improvement;• Support business activities with accounting related matters;• Support for technical accounting implementations at the market level;• Support implementation of new business models and systems; • Responsible for the execution and oversight of internal controls across the Mars Wrigley North America business;• ERP expertise and knowledge management; • Coaching and mentoring other accounting and reporting associates and• Support ad hoc projects as needed.• Review leases and other contractual agreements for accounting implications
