Accounting Software Implementation Specialist

ROLE SUMMARY:

An Accounting Software Implementation Specialist leads successful implementations of the Veracross Accounting software through strong understanding of the Veracross software package, knowledge of the fundamental accounting equation, excellent project management skills, and effective communication (written and verbal). Projects are executed on time, and on-budget, while fostering trusting relationships with client business offices.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct delivery of Veracross Accounting platform consulting and organizational change management to independent school business offices. The consulting consists of:

• Business Office discovery: on-site office operations and workflow discovery
• Platform transition options consulting: Discovery-infused platform setup options presented, demoed, revised, and finally agreed upon.
• Orchestrate successful Accounting Office change management, where tailored configurations are office-tested, revised, approved, and deployed.
• Business Office workflow consulting: Model and document the ways the school's Business Office will use the Veracross Accounting module across their first operational year.

• Develops, coordinates, and executes project plans, task schedules, and resource activities to ensure on-time and effective project delivery

• Interaction with Implementation Engineers for system configuration and data migration
• Writing custom functionality specifications for delivery to engineering after indepth consulting with the client on business needs
• Leads direct training engagements for Business offices on-site and via webinar

Requirements

• 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
• Accounting degree, coursework, or relevant experience in a business office setting
• A solid understanding of the fundamental accounting equation; the general journal; the chart of accounts; general ledger reporting (balance sheet, trial balance, profit & loss statements); fiscal period and fiscal year closing; budgeting; reconciliations; and sub-ledger processing (e.g. accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash processing, purchases journal, fixed assets, cost accounting)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to include comfort with public speaking, presentation delivery, etc.
• Experience in Project Management, ideally in implementing software solutions.

• Ability to make complex decisions and recommendations under limited direction and using a high degree of initiative and independent judgement
• Ability to learn complex, enterprise level software systems at a level that supports teaching others
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Problem-solving skills with ability to perform root cause analysis
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
