Accounting Specialist

Description of Position:

Compute, classify, and record data for HVAC Install and Sewer job billing and job costing. Perform any combination of commission calculating, posting, verifying, and processing client rebates. Check the accuracy of all job costs and calculations in order to provide job cost analysis.

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
• Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
• Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
• Calculate sales commissions and record for the payroll department.
• Verify purchase orders relating to client jobs.
• Calculate costs of materials, overhead and other expenses, based on estimates, quotations and price lists.
• Compile and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports to analyze a variety of activity within the install and sewer job scopes using a variety of Excel spreadsheets and pivot tables.
• Validate and track rebates due back to clients and process through the manufacturer or client's local utility company accordingly.
• Must be proficient in Excel (Pivot Table knowledge required)
• Other duties as assigned.
